CD: The QuickTime Classroom Collection CD Vol. 1 v2 © 2002
by Adaptive
Technology
The QuickTime Classroom Collection CDs by Adaptive Technology have been developed
specifically for classroom use and provide additional tools to facilitate beginning literacy
skills, language development and curriculum development.
The QuickTime Classroom Collection Vol. 1 CD includes over
100 different verbs represented by over 250 different movies.
Each QuickTime movie has a companion photograph made
from the video. The movie “splashing” could easily be mistaken for
“jumping”. With the still photo, however, the water droplets may
be pointed out to the student to make the action of “splashing”
more obvious. Photos may be printed for other classroom projects.
Many of the videos have been split at the moment of the action
and the companion still inserted to allow the student more
time to focus on the action. Ex. The splashing movie pauses with
water droplets in the air!
Note: photos are .jpg and movies are .mov files!

The “Virtual field trip” collections may be used to visit the airport, a dairy farm, the
state fair, the zoo, a farm, a Renaissance festival with period costumes and activities from
the Middle Ages, and the four seasons of the year.
Movie sequences include a complete house construction from the initial dirt work to the
completed exterior, a fishing sequence, the milking sequence at the dairy farm and a goose
family from the eggs to young goslings.
Additional collections also include a butterfly farm, a model train collection, a variety of
birds including a bird’s nest with baby birds, and a buffalo herd. A collection of “Road
Trip” movies depict “behind the wheel” driving through mountain roads and may be used in a
variety of activities such as travel and game sequences.
